About
I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you to my blog. Hi, my name is Sara, and I’m a practicing pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) in the school system of the New York/Long Island area. I received my BS in Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University, and have been a licensed OT in New York state for 10 years. In that time ,I’ve been an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and New York State Occupational Therapy Association (NYSOTA).
I have a special place in my heart for children with special needs and their families. I love my career and feel especially rewarded to have the opportunity to increase my students’ independance at home, school and in the community.
I find that many families and friends get frustrated at the lack of resources they have when it comes to caring for and interacting with special needs children. I plan to publish weekly (or bi-weekly) posts about organizations and individuals who are providing innovative products, sites, and ideas that I find helpful.
The parents of the children I treat are often confused and in need of sound advice concerning gifts, activities and ideas. If you want to make every dollar and moment count when buying presents or spending time with your children, visit and post questions here often. I look forward to interacting with you.
